Barrow docks 14th December
After last nights great trip I could not wait to get back out again.
Set off about 5ish and was fishing by 5:30 same setup as last night. Within a couple of mins had my first fish a pouting safely returned 15mins later this was followed by a whiting I was going to use it as live bait but made the mistake of not having a rig ready and by the time I had tide one up the fish had died .
I rebaited with a piece of mackerel I got a typical whiting bite decided to finish my smoke before reeling it in, then suddenly the rod went nuts and almost flew all over on the railings I grabbed the rod and felt a fish fighting like mad at first thinking it may have been a small conger as the fish was so strong. It surfaced and i knew instantly what the fish was my first ever pollack. This was it I was happy and very very luck as when I landed the fish I noticed that it had a whiting in its mouth basically I had hooked a whiting and the pollack decided it was easy food and hooked itself.
Joiner turned up about 30 mins later and showed me how to do it pulling in 2 pollock I will let him tell you about that in his report. I received a few small knocks and lost what would have easily been the biggest fish of the night I suspect cod. The pollack i caught turned out to be the biggest of the night and our guesstimate is the fish is about just shy of 5lb. Just measured it and it is 24inch
Another fantastic night for me caught my biggest fish of the year and a pollack that I have been trying to get for the last 2 months I also had great company thank you Joiner.

fook me your on a roll .. well done .. the smile says it all ..
What does it matter now if men believe or no?
What is to come will come. And soon you too will stand aside,
To murmur in pity that my words were true
(Cassandra, in Agamemnon by Aeschylus)
To see the wizard one must look behind the curtain ....

Bloody hell Nutty!
I can't believe how well your doing in the last 2 sessions. To think a few weeks back you were on about packing in. Are you sure your not just popping in the local fish mongers? joking.
Well done mate , but please stop catching now your making me look shite.

There's no such thing as bad weather just a bad choice of clothing!
