Fished Tuesday morning up at 2.45am for a 4am Launch on my mate Terry's boat..( yes I am mad!!!) fishing was slower than expected.. we managed 12 Cod between us, biggest being about 3.5lb , plenty of decent Whiting and a couple of dabs... NO Doggies Yippee!!!.. boy was it cold... had that many layers on I could hardily move!!! getting Club membership soon for my little boat.. Can't wait to get out there.... :speed: :speed: :speed: :speed: Bring it on :cheer:

Good bucket of cod and whiting there pal well done

2014, species, codling, whiting, dab, blenny, flounder, bass 41cm, thornback ray on lrf tackle in morecambe bay off the shore. smoothound in heysham. plaice 2lb 1oz nasty weaver.

Not a bad session that Ruth, a dozen cod for the freezer is pretty good :thumb: I bet it was cold on the old chops when you were under way :speed:

what baits were you getting them on?

Bait was black lug... just had buttered pan fried cod fillet. baby potatoes and mushy peas! (must have done a good job filleting as I haven't found any bones yet.... and made sure I didn't leave any flesh on the bones!!!),( had a break through with the mushy peas!!! will post a new thread in a bit!!!) absolutely superb...... :champ: Think the OH is getting used to me being out all day and fetching the fish home... :thumb:
I packed the whiting up into batches of 6, so I can make fish pies when I get the chance... :D

:cold: but worth it bet soon as you had first cod thoughts of being cold just went away :yeah2: were there many small boats out there ? :gp: love photos gets me itching to go :fishing:

Well done on getting out my mate Ross was fishing in his boat behind Rossal school on tues he had 4 cod around 4lb and some good whiting never made it myself battery trouble on the motor had to buy a new one.o yes nice bucket of fish.
