rossal low water 1 june
I had arranged this trip to rossal with couchy about a week ago, marc was fishing in the comp earlier in the day, so we decided to go and try our luck in the evening, marc would come along later and meet up with us on the beach, We hadnt fished at rossal for a while so was looking forward to it, We got set up about 2 hours before low and fished it out, The omens were bad from the start, a huge head of a seal was bobbing in the water about 100yds out from us, it didn't hang about too long and was soon off down the coast.
Marc eventually joined us and three of us had a good laugh about fishing stories and such. All of a sudden couchy broke ranks and and made for his rod, Could this be that rare creature called a fish, sure was, a lovely plaice about 35cm . It went quiet after that till marc brought in a flounder. I was now sweating on a blankity blank,
The tide turned and we fished it in for about 1hour , Marc decided it was time to go, and me and couchy decided it was one more cast, we cast out, the tide was now coming in quickly, so we started moving back, then as our reels were emptying of line, we brought them in and , bob had 2 codling on and I had one. nice fish and getting bigger. they were quickly photoed and put back . We had to have another cast after that, this produced another codling for bob, It was a shame we had to go because I think we would have had a belting night , the codling were just coming on with a vengeance , We will be back another night , lets hope the codling come back as well.
