No Priests at Priory.

Postby Rocket Ron » 14 Nov 2012, 17:19

After checking the forecast, (force 4to5 sw wind )decided to give Walney a miss, as usually produces lots of weed on a rising tide, Instead figured Priory Point to be a better option. Arrived about 20.30 which gave me enough time to set up as the first run of tide forced its way up the estuary. Fired both baits out, one long, one short on pulley pennels loaded with fresh black. Ten minutes in and the tap tap begins which set the scene for the rest of the night . Got whiting after whiting on long range and nowt short so fired both long. Ended up with over twenty though none could be classed as pins as have been getting recently. Had a couple to 35cm and the one in photo at 30cm. The priest remained in the box and all fish safely returned.
Unusually for the venue, never got a mud shark, thats a first!

Got out this morning and fished the Coast Rd. Just two pan size flounder for tea tonight. Loads of weed on the drop made it hard work, as can be seen in pic. Just got to decide where to go tonight. Any suggestions?
