Gynn Wall 28/8
Like several others headed down to the Gynn Wall last night.
Pleasant evening and bit of a stir.
Fished 2 rods one with flappers close in and the other with loop rig at distance. Bait was fresh peeler and black.
First cast with rod fishing flapper rigs met with horrible creaking sounds had a look at top splice but could not see anything, carried on to put second rod out.
When reeling in rod with flapper on found out what caused the noise, two nice spiral cracks running 18" from the reel seat on bottom splice , but had caught one of the usual suspects weaver on crab.
Quick application of a couple of reel coasters around the crack and then gentle cast for the rest of the night.
Managed another weaver on the loop rig again taking crab as the sun was setting.
just after high water brought in proper fish on flapper very close in, flounder 28cm again on crab.
Honest it is a flounder, must make sure camera has taken picture properly next time.
Ah well at least it means a trip to Gerrys to sort out another rod

Well done on catching some fish, but hard luck with the rod. Must have been a real sickener.
