Gynn Wall 17/11
Like several others on the site, took advantage in the break in the weather to have a session on Gynn Wall yesterday afternoon, fished 2 3/4 hours to high and then 3/4 hour after.
Westerly swell and light rain greeted us on arrival.
Fished a 2 hook cascade rig (1/0's) and a single 1/0 pulley rig at distance and 2 hook flappers (2's) closer in.
Bait was fresh peeler and black.
Nothing happened for the first 3/4 of an hour and starting to panic when knock on close in rod, gave first fish of the day, dab on worm.
Next in was best whiting of the day at 31cm again to worm on a flapper rig.
Was chatting to one of the Fleetwood and District lads who had come down for a look when he mentioned that the forecast rain hadn't arrived, just as he opened his mouth it did with a vengeance
But fishing continued with best dab of the day (28cm) falling to the cascade rig at distance.
As the rain decreased the wind picked up and started to swing to south westerly, fish continued to bite through high tide but after seeing rods bounce down wall after being blown over , getting stuck and losing a rig and finally casting out and only getting about half the distance with the pulley rig due to the wind decided to call it a day.
Finished the session with 9 dabs, 4 whiting and a flounder, my brother getting a similar catch. Majority of the fish on flapper rigs closer in. Dabs preferring worm over crab 7 to 2, whiting and flounder taking crab.
Reports of better whiting showing north of slipway from the Red Bank Road end but no reports of Codling
