good day at the mariners

Postby rob f » 17 Sep 2014, 20:51

I've" had 29 thournies out the mariners so far this year , so i was hoping for my 30th , i made plans to meet up with jimmy and jon14hil at the mariners today . when i got there , there was already about 5 anglers :fishing: . i set up 2 rod with 2 hook flappers baited with frozen lug and squid . my first fish was a rockling
Image
then i hooked a shrimp so i used it and caught a whiting with it . jimmy and john were still waiting for there first :fish: about a hour and half before high water i changed over to pennels and put them right out hoping for a thornie . i got a knock and the line went slack started to reel in and i could feel the ray . i managed to get it up the wall
Image
then jon had his first bite a nice thornie ,

i had another 2 thornies before i packed up

jimmy ended up with a blank :banghead: jon 1 thornie  i had a rockling , whiting and 3 thornies which make 32 this year . :D :D :D :D :D roll on the next session :thumb:

Joe, for some reason rays are a rare catch at Vale Park but do get caught occasionally. Good luck in the match.
