hi
just a quick question i am in in dalbeattie in feb 2013 and if anyone can give me some good fishing marks would be helpfull ...have already done balcary flat rock/ rascarrel (pardon the spelling) any good spots near ....

Cow's Snout and the Chair are known marks if your after cod, both are on the OS map. The Snout has thrown up monster cod in the past, BUT BE WARNED its a serious rock mark and you should not attempt fish it on your own or without a full recce in daylight! Not sure about access these days as its over 10 years since I lived up there, we used to park next to the farm yard and walk down the hill to the cliffs.

Kipford or Palnackie for flatties and a bit of shelter if its wild.

I always liked Flat Rock probably because I had several gret bags of codling from there, but there's loads of coastline to go at.

When i last fished there some years ago it had a wind chill factor of -17 according to the radio i was playing ..a lot of guys left because there bait froze up...we used warm water to keep bait usable ...very fecin cold i had a sundrige suit on and other clothes was freezing but got pesterd with doggies and dabs....good fun though

not long to go i'm up in feb....any more marks to fish close to dalbeattie?

Have you tried Sandyhills Bay

It looks a decent beach to wet a line........
