Deal Pier

Postby Thundahamma » 21 Mar 2014, 07:51

Fished the lower left of the pier yesterday. I fished from 0900 - 1715. High tide was around 1310. Caught Doggies, Codling, Pouting and Whiting. I was trying to catch Thornies but no joy. The only ray to come in was the guy fishing next to me who caught a 10.05 lbs thornie which I photographed and will be on the Deal Pier website today (at some stage). Most baits worked, I tried for rays using Bluey or maccy and also used, Blacks, commons, squid and Sandeel for the other species, they all worked, with the Codling taking lug/squid cocktail. Rigs I used were dropdown Pennel rigs, Pulley Pennel rigs, 3 hook flappers and loop rigs.
SPECIES SO FAR THIS YEAR 2015: WHITING, CODLING, POUTING, ROCKLING, DAB, DOGFISH,
