Carp fishing trip France

Postby jamesENGINEERmartin » 26 Aug 2011, 15:30

Me and 3 friends decided on a fishing holiday this summer to france! wanted to for years so was like a dream getting out there!! :D took quite a lot of planning, but lukily i was away in kenya with the army,so the job didn't fall on me! :yeah2: :yeah2:

The morning soon arrived, picked up the van, packed it and we were off!!  4 hours 10 mins from lancaster to portsmouth   it was an x-police van haha ;) the trip went smoothley untill we got pulled over by customs!! :huan kerr: :huan kerr: :huan kerr: but a quick look in the back of the van and we were on the ferry!! :thumb:

Portsmouth to Caen was 7 hours so no guessing where we ended up all night  payed the next day though haha but what the hell,we was in france. Just a short 2 hour drive up to the lake, just near le mans. The holiday was booked through angling lines and the lake was a lovely 5 acre lake called Old oaks. Carp to 53lb and catfish to 60+. didn't see any cats but had a blinding week all the same, here are just a few of our pictures...... :thumb: :thumb:

Great report James it puts the UK posts on course fishing to shame, I can see this becoming an annual event for you now as they say you get hooked on fishing the big lakes in France, pardon the pun.
