OTTERSPOOL

Postby rob f » 01 Dec 2021, 12:34

Welcome back everyone :thumb: :D :D :D
Fished Otterspool on the 22nd November . set up 2 rods bait frozen lug and squid . first cast i had a small knock on one of the rods , so i decided to leave it , then a few mins later the same rod had hell of a pull down , i started to reel in and i could feel the fish pulling down , has i got it near the wall i still couldn't see it , then its head came up out of the water , it was a nice size Cod , it looked about 3 1/2 to 4lb then it just came loose and swam off .I was gutted :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: . When i brought my rig in there was a small codling still on the hook . The big Cod must had took the small codling then let go of it when i got it to the wall . That was the only cod of the day but there was plenty of whiting coming out.

Nice to hear of a Cod, unlucky you dropped it, I was thinking of Mariners Thursday morning tide but reading your report it's got to be Otters now just in case a Cod comes along, I'll be fishing for 6am.
