Newbarns and Otterspool

Had a wee sojourn up to Newbarns on Wednesday hoping for a couple of Morecambe Bay's finest halibuts.
I forgot my good luck charm and my phone.

The result was a few hours in the fresh air drowning worms and no pics either.




To make amends, Thursday was an early start and a trip in the opposite direction, to Otterspool.

A cracking day with little wind.

Almost tropical, except that the frozen offerings I had taken with me hadn't thawed out overnight. Bait elastic rescued the day and got me off the mark.


No halibut here either, but I did manage to weedle out, a couple of those seemingly elusive codling.

I don't know why it's called Otterspool ? These definately came out of the 'small pool'
