Dark, Cold, Windy and Wet......
Thursday evening and a wee lull in the windy conditions, together with a good tide, time to get out
I headed off to Cleveleys but on finding other anglers in a favoured peg I moved on to Rossall and the the 5 bar gate.
Perfect conditions this evening - Dark and cold with a light Easterly breeze.
Intent on detering the 'tings', tackle was geared up for larger behemoths.
First cast and a whiting comes ashore. Doh ! I hate catching on the first cast, never a good omen.
By the time I had rod No2 out, another similar sized whiting.
Things then went quiet, however, an hour before HW and the wind was freshening rapidly from the South West. The sudden onset was just a tad too much for my trusty old "Salt" and both it and two rods it was carrying, clattered down on the beach behind me. :
At least the rods came away relatively unscathed. Well almost. A daylight inspection revealed that one ring insert has popped
To rub salt into the wound, the first spots of rain were falling, though it was more horizontal than vertical.
Well I like my fishing to be comfortable
Dark and Cold, Happy Days
Dark, Cold and Windy, OK I'll wrap up
Dark, Cold ,Windy, Wet and not much fishy action. No more excuses, it's time to go home
The search for a Cod continues.......
