A Tough Gynn two Crack...<º))))><

Postby shacky » 11 Sep 2021, 20:08

We had made arrangements to fish the Gynn tomorrow, due to the promanade being closed for an event. We had no choice but to fish today.
I loaded the car and had a feeling i had forgotten something?
Today the wind had changed to a westerly. But not having long enough to stir the sea bed up, fishing would be a tad difficult. Catching weed and other floating debris would be easy.
Mack, Black, Rag and Squid would be on the menu today, fished on the usual flappers and ironwork.
The sea came in at a fair old pace..

Image

Got a rod out of the car and realised what i had left behind......Set the others up and had to improvise

Image

So it began and so did the wait for a bite...................a couple of hours went by and Codhead Chris popped down to collect some gear for his charity work and a natter :blah: :thumb:
Another hour goes by and nothing! Joe, who was fishing further along the wall, came down for a chat :blah: i hope you caught Joe :fishing:
Things were getting silly, it was now high water and i'd still not had a bite ???
A few people got a soaking..

Image

An hour into the ebb, i got a positive bite and a double hook-up..

Image

Paul, hooked something different, after a bit of a tussle in came....you guessed it..

Image

It was left on the bench for any passing child to take.
Another fish was on the cards and have NOT caught one of these since January!!! a whiting..

Image

Forgot to add it to my species list
The tourist trade was keeping the Beach Patrol very busy today..

Image

And i'm not surprised with a sea like this..

Image

One last bite and this fella gave a good account of itself..

Image

Hell of a drag today. Though good to meet a few people....Cheers folks :thumb:

Well done Iain, a result for you in tough times :thumb: That rod rest was a common sight in the 60,s before the invention of the tripods. :gp:

I wondered why you hadn't got your tripod, it looks like it fished better on the ebb today, well done :thumb:
