Virgin ground
Well putting aside a couple of personal issues I met Baz at Clear Water on Tuesday for another go at Last Blast. Struggled here last couple of times, but the lads have been moving fish in from Fingals to create a match pond for next year, so, thinking was, if they've settled, we might bag a few. This time we fished the opposite end to the car park where the boundary fence is, so depth, where to fish to etc was all new... We both went for the pole, and plumbed a couple of swims. I had a very nice margin swim next to me, so was hopeful...
I had a few fish before Baz started, all little Rudd and golden Rudd and roach. Baz did slightly better...
Topping 10 lb, best of the year..?? Nice fish... and the fish kept coming. Occasional lull, but, steady catching...as we like it? Dropping in and not knowing what was coming out. I had a clonking eel again, hastily returned!! Think we ended up with 7 different species. Bazzers next fish wasn't quite as big...
I had a go in close...
Baz too was catching well, then lifted into another lump...
Good size bream. Heavy fish too...
More Rudd before my mate had a sharp take and lots of laccy streamed out...not a slab, or a carp...
Cracking tench, about 4? Can't remember...!! Beautiful red eye...
Swims did go a little quiet again towards the middle of the day, then begger me, he's off again...
Nice common to just about wrap up proceedings. I had plenty of fish but nothing big..? Sussing the feeding was crucial, but we'll keep that under our caps for now...Top day out, spotted the kingfisher too and plenty of other bird life...
looked like the geese had flocked up and flocked off......( Baz expression...)
Must return and try the feeder that end. 60lb of bream went in yesterday, so looking good.

Cracking day lads! A Tench that anyone would be proud of, a double figure common, another lovely and unique looking Common, a proper bream and some nice little Perch and Rudd to compliment them.
Good session. Any news on when they are merging Last Blast with Burn?

Hi pal, not yet, they have to get planning permission apparently. Lots going on, new pegs on Fingals, soon to be called Kellet Lake I believe as the new carp lake. I believe it's to be netted early next month...
