Has all the yakkers given up?
Used to be reports most weeks mainly from Tim but others too.
Used to enjoy his videos seeing what was coming out a bit further from shore. There were plenty of other yakkers too visible in the videos.
???

Certainly don't see as many as in previous years. I know a few moved over to SIBs with outboards and we're regularly launching at 5bar. I saw a few yakkers launching into the Ribble this summer, presumably after bass, but I didn't hear any reports

Do you have a sib LH?
What part of the tide do the sib lads launch and retrieve?
I've just got a sib to do short sessions for when I've not got enough time for the boat :thumb:

I don't Graham. I've a love of boats but don't particularly like the idea of being at sea in something quite so small, though I suspect that they are more stable than a kayak? The lads I've seen have drop down trolley wheels mounted on the transom so can launch at most states of tide providing there's no surf running. The way I see it your going to want to go out in pairs for safety's sake, so figure you could prep and launch a 165 etc in not much more time/hassle than 2 SIBs? It's not the launching as much as getting out safely, as all Blackpool boaters should be aware of following the tragedies that occurred when conditions turned very ugly very quickly. BBAC is a good club who have a fleet of well maintained tractors and a secure compound at Starr Gate and you are launcning/retrieving over sand not rock/shingle so it gets my vote :thumb:
