Hello there,
Not posted for a while as not been doing that much fishing, but just back from Oban after a weeks holiday and thought it would be rude not to take my fishing gear, my main target apart from the Whisky of course was Thornback Rays as the Spur Dogs have been a bit thin on the ground lately!
Anyway after a couple of unproductive sessions I got put on a couple of Marks by a local Angler called Cameron, we fished together for most of the week, great lad
Here is Cameron holding an Oban Thornback, unfortunately it was the only fish to be caught that day, but my luck changed the next day when Cameron recommend another mark!
This was my first fish of about 6-7lb and soon after caught a couple of smaller males round the 3-4lb mark, also had a few Doggies that was attracted to the scent of the different fish bait cocktails
So not a bad session coming after a couple of blanks, the cold windy weather didn't help the fishing but still enjoyed the week
Had a go for the Spurs on the last day with Cameron be we didn't get a bite, but the scenery was fantastic, maybe the most scenic mark I have ever fished, here are a few pics of the mark that's in the mouth of loch Etive!
