was up and ready at 6:30 for this mornings high tide but the rain had other ideas and i was like a coiled spring ready and waiting for it to go off.

managed to get out on the slab 2 hours before high and managed 3 whiting around the 34cm mark not bad.

popped home to have a quick bite to eat and picked charlie up to get upto perch rock for low water, i wasn’t expecting much with all the rain but it got us out.

fished three down one up only one other rod out braving the conditions.

absolute cracking night bites from the off large whiting after whiting keeping us constantly busy

then.............

just before low my new rod bounced into life, literally causing me to spill my brew as i charged to the tripod,

5 mins later and i was still trying to bully the monster on the end of my rod and shout at charlie as he was overly excited and was upto his welly’s in the drink trying to help me beach it.

finally beached my prize a nice coddy weighing in at 4lb 8oz.

got some photos of me with it but charlie is no david bailey so i got a few better pics with him holding it, i video called manchester newbie and ian4782 as i was overly excited myself as this is what i’ve been trying so hard for
