Like Steve has said, Padsta Tel's your man as he's used the slip a fair bit over the years.

From what I can remember, it is a very shallow slipway. I think the council dump the windblown sand that's collected on the promenade onto the foreshore there. I've seen them pushing it further out with a digger. There used to be a guy on a moped checking permits, but I'm not sure if the council still enforce the permits. I know when I had a boat for the very occasional time we used the slip we used to just use it and park the car at the top of the slip with the trailer still attached. Occasionally there was a stern letter under the windscreen wiper but nothing ever came of it.

Thx chaps I asked this question a while ago and Tel said just the same as you Rushy. I have asked a colleague today, he tells me it's £21 per year as long your boat is properly insured.

Your right Shacky I've launched various boats from Knott End for most of my life. Unfortunatly during the summer most weekends the slip is taken over by large groups of individuals with jet skis who make things very difficult for single handed launching.
