With a quick flash of blue orange and white he was away ..a kingfisher ..disturbed from the old boat house by my presence of moving down the bank... he flew along the far bank then across to a small island on the bottom end of the lodge he can shift and he wasn’t hanging about.. I cast in with my first lure nothing happened for 40 minutes casting out different areas no joy I had 2 hours before dark I had finished a hedge cutting job and I knew before I set off today I would get a couple of hours before dark you have to be off here by last light..I then thought my new fillish Black minnow wich is actually pure white with a bright red head but in it went 10 minuets later bang I love that feeling when the lure gets hit the rod I was using I have is a bass lure rod and a nice jack comes in and that was it one jack no more for the rest of the time and then darkness away time but a nice 2 hours after work start the weekend nicely....wonder how that rod would handle a pike of 8 lb + If I ever get lucky enough
