Ian Golds Supermatch with the Parker aluminium leg-lock kit, well over a decade of faultless service and still going strong. Hang a bag of sand/stones on the hook when it's blowing hard. Some mates have the Salt and MTI rests and whinge about them being heavy and overly complicated.

Great stuff Paul,
I've had my salt for 18 months now and it's still going strong. The only downside to it, is the weight.

had the ian golds 6 foot supermatch since 2006 and can't fault it - it does benefit from the leg lock kit- i made my own mod using some scrap aluminium angle and a couple of plastic 15mm pipe clips - these fit the front legs nicely - could be used to adapt loads of stuff to the tripod i reckon (back to back with a 22mm one makes a good mini maglite holder)
anyone use the rubber bait tray??
looking at ditching the tackle box in favour of rucksack to make the trek from van to shore mark easier but i will miss the seat box lid for bait prep etc - any ideas for a tripod mod??
chris

Goldsy Supermatch for me for normal conditions with a fold up bucket fulla stones for those windy moments, then the MTI for bristol channel rox when its blowin its head off....no long walks though as it does weight a bit.
