Sunset Eolica
Reading John 240 recent piece about the latest aquisition of one of these rods not to mention his other half beating him again on the Gynn wall today ( 25/04/15 ) reminds me that I also bought one of these rods a while ago and have been using it so here are a few thoughts. The Eolica is the middle of the Sunset range and is rather more powerful in the tip than the Solica I have the hybrid tipped Solica and it served me reasonably well last winter but the extra power in the tip of the Eolica is a very welcome addition to the armoury.
However it also remains a very light rod you could hold it all day without any difficulty and bite detection is excellent as well all in all it's a great all rounder for a continental style rod it can also put a lead out a very long way with little difficulty.
The only drawback for some is the colour it has to be said it is camper than a drag queens frock .
Drag Queen in frock don't fret I have permission to use the pic!
The rod in question!
Speaking personally I like it but other may take a different view why should rods always be boring colours anyway
