Steamer Point Dorset,PB Bass

To be honest I was chasing the Undulate Rays down @ Steamer but it seems the cold weather last night didn't agree with any Ray activity
so with things really quiet apart from Whiting stripping my Bluey baits to pieces,I decided to break out my latest Bass Rod,a Conoflex
Nevada that id had made by my mate Mark,a real light weight tool married with a 5000 sized bait runner and a straight through 12lb running ledger
with 2oz weight and size 1/0 wrapped inside a squid head.......it was deadly quiet but the peace was broken when I had a screaming run on the Bass rod and after leaping off the chair I lifted the rod and clicked the baitrunner into gear the fish tore off along the shoreline obviously not happy with my piece of steel in his gums,a few minutes excitement lead to the fish rolling in the surf at my feet ...now to some a fish of this size is normal fodder but till this one a 4lb 4oz fish was my best off the shoreline.....so @ 4lb 9oz this was a new best ....




anyway,properly christened the new rod and done it with a PB fish so well happy !!!!!!!!!!

Stayed will into the ebb but apart from Ting and Pout that was it......got back to the car to see -2 on the therm guage
so yes....it was bloody cold.....but a worthwhile session.
