Starr Gate l/w 18 May
Weather and sea state looked good for a Bass (not to be). So decided to fish 1 down / 4 up.
Armed with frozen and fresh, walked out from the diving decomp bell and was in the water for 09.45 with 1/0 pennels.
Nothing until 2 hours into the flood when I managed a 't' bag Plaice (no pic (embarrassed)). Things started to happen from then on, with a nice Dab to add to my species hunt.
Next came a massive pull down and a slack line, sadly nothing connected (stay with the 3/0s Shacky). After a slight bit of reflection, I rebaited and a nice tap on the rod tip told me a Flounder had called.
As I was about 100yds from the wall, I cast and let line out and had a sit down. After about 15 minutes another tap on the tip singled another Flounder had called, however as it was going to be my last cast I decided to leave retrieving for another 5 minutes. After reeling in about 200yds of line I was rewarded with a double of Flounder.
All in all a cracking day to be out at a easy l/w mark.

Good report and photos - Thanks!
Just been looking on google maps for the diving decomp bell.
I've never fished the southern end of Blackpool, is is all low water fishing at that end?
What's the parking situation?
Frank

Right Boxerman, the mark is fished by most at h/w from the wall, but I prefer 1 down and then back up to the wall.
As for parking, it's a bit of a lottery if you can get parked anywhere near. I usually opt for a side street opposite the mark, but if the lunimations are on, even the residents aren't allowed to park outside their houses.
The diving bell is about 200mtrs from the tram shed.
If you're going to give it a go at h/w, then 'bag' a position at the top of on of the set of beach access steps.

Cheers mate! it's the parking which is a main issue for me, I don't have a car, its a hightop camper which doesn't fit under height barriers and ain't really ideal for parking in side streets.
Might nip round on the bike and have a reccie sometime soon.
Where are the locals supposed to park during the illuminations?
