Ready Steady Gynn 1st April

Postby JoeRoberts » 01 Apr 2021, 21:59

Finally got out of Jail, so off down the wall after 3 months hiatus, hoping them fish are still there
from the last few days, but wasn't optimistic with easterly's

Car top up with fuel (first time this year,) check
Bait ordered, check
Tackle ready, check
Fish measure & scales (just in case a cracker comes along,) check
Parking permit in car, check
Flasks made & some home made soup, check
Ho! and don't forget the wife, check

There where a few on but plenty of room on the cable stretch.
Tide in & baits in the water, then a long wait, nothing before high apart from that dreaded
weed that takes ages to remove from your line.
It was about 30 mins past high when I had my first nibble & nothing on, another nibble about an hour
later & still nothing on, a lot left after high with nobody catching.
thought it was going to be a blankety blank, so started packing up, I said to my wife,
bet there is something on the last casts now that I've'e put everything away.
So first rod wound in the weed was back with a vengeance, pulled in the next it felt a bit heavy & sure enough in came the 1st of the year, a nice spotty.

Didn't know if the hunt was staring today so I took my card with my name on, but messaged Danny, & he says it will probably will start on the 13th.

Pulled in the last rod a little ting, missed both knocks due to removing the weed.

Great to get back out :fishing: lets hope the idiots don't spoil it again and there are no more lockdowns
