Preston Neonatal Unit Sea Match + Coarse Match
Hi Guys,
What a 3 weeks I have had, I got a phone call while at work on the 3rd Feb from the mrs dad, first thing he says is don't panic!!! But Leanne has been take to hospital in an Ambulance, straight away worrying for both Leanne and Baby Samuel, I left Gerrys and 30 minutes later I arrive at Preston Royal Hospital, still unsure what to expect, Leanne had lost a considerable amount of blood, being the man I remained carm (crapping my pants), a scan done no reason for bleed, further tests done and still no reason, 2 specialists later and we were being told we are rushing you straight onto the operating table, at this stage we were being told the baby was fine, so 20 minutes later Samuel was born 6lb 6oz, the next 2 minutes were the longest of my life as he was not breathing, little bugger did not want to come out of womb so was forced out. I got to meet the little man briefly as he was rushed to Neonatal to but connected to lots of wires and breathing equipment, Leanne lost a further 2 pints of blood on the operating table, but thankfully no transfusion was required for Leanne she was however knackered by now.
Samuel not so lucky and had to have a blood transfusion, the next 48hrs were horrid as they had to force him the oxygen required, he every hour though made an improvement, nearly 2 weeks had passed but finally Samuel was ready for home.
The neonatal unit in Preston was absolutely brilliant the staff made us aware of everything all the time, told us in ways we would understand and made sure we were looked after also, this unit does an amazing job every day, we got to spend a few days in the hospital as a family while he was getting better which was great, so I would like to raise some money as they have 2 rooms for parents to stop in, they defo need improving and I would like to help them achieve this.
I will be running 2 matches, 1 x Sea fishing on the Key Lancaster and 1 x Coarse Match, venue to be confirmed.
Each Match will cost £10 per person, with hopefully some awesome prizes.
More info will be added onto this as and when I have it, if you want to fish any of the meet please add a comment
(In Sea and In Coarse) If fishing both if only fishing the one event just put the relevant (In Sea or In Coarse), will give me a better idea of numbers, thanks again.
