Reels for disabled users?

Reels for disabled users?

Postby NewAngler » 13 Nov 2019, 10:55

Hello Anglers!

I am developing a product to improve accessibility for disabled people.

I was hoping that I could get some advice on what to do.

Please comment with any ideas,

Kind regards

What sort of disability?
Blind, deaf, amputees, in fact many classes of disability have the use of their arms and can use a standard fishing reel, for those who can't wind a handle there are electric reels.
Disability is something that comes in many shapes and sizes but in many cases is caused through lack of provision in the community. So for example my biggest problem is accessing somewhere to fish rather than the tackle but there are many people who do fish with disabilities already.
So the first question is what need are you trying to fulfill and are you sure that there is one?
Not trying to be awkward - just realistic
Cheers

Thank you very much for your reply,

You are right, my post wasn't very specific. It would be helpful if you could name some problems disabled users may experience when fishing - so I can target and (attempt to) solve the problem.

Thank you again, hope to hear from everyone shortly!
