Heysham today

Fished Heysham at low water. Bait was peeler and fresh black lug.
Weed was really bad until low water . Just before slack had a bass. Lots of good bites from hounds but couldn't connect properly and i lost one on the way in. Stepped up a hook size to 4/0 and landed one about 2lb.
Learned a lot from other friendly anglers and like Arnie, I will be back.

Well done mate :thumb: I have been using a pennel to great effect a few were caught the other day on the top hook some people are not kean on them for Hounds but strike early on and there should be no issues. Also found squid has been catching just as well as crab :thumb:

Yes the issue is a pennel hook. I spoke to a lad who had landed 10 in his session all hooked on the pennel. He used 3/0 Sakuma Circles.
