Googon Gynn

Postby TurboT » 18 Apr 2019, 21:19

The plan for today was :-
1. Gynn Wall
2. Do some prospecting for early arrivals and target flounder, weever and rockling. :fish:
3. Soak up some rays.
4. Sit down, drink coffee and relax !

Got down on the Gynn wall for a 3 up 2 down session. Finding space turned out to be the easy part but
holding it for a non knitting session......
I moved to a more open peg, just North of 'le carte track' and with 2 hours before HW, objectives 1, 3 and 4 were in the bag.

How about some fish? This was proving tricky.
Rod 1, clipped down mackeral rig and launched to the Isle of Man.
Second rod, not far short, with fresh black on a two hook pennel.
Rods 3 and 4 at 0 - 40yds, the fail safe for target fish, both armed with a mix of rag, black and mackeral.

From the off it was proving a tough day with bites but no fish. It wasn't until HW that things improved with two rockling breaking the routine of sun, coffee and biscuits.
Another one for the hunt. :fish:

Small, slimey and perfectly formed

This was followed by a solitary small plaice and the wee-est dab on the planet. Both from the gutter, at the base of the wall.

From the small pool.

Even the size 2 hook looks big!

So all in all , I got there in the end. Sit back, relax, chill and enjoy.
Cos that's what it's about. :cold: :victory:

Incidentally the council chappie was on the rounds today, asking all anglers to take thier detritus home with them. Apparently a K9 managed to eat a hook, which had to be surgically removed at the vets.
You know the score .....Take yer craapp home with you.
And what he should have finished off with......a thankyou, to all those who leave, with more than they arrived with. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

People will start moaning when they lose the fishing rights cos of mindless idiots leaving rubbish it's bad enough leaving litter, but baited hooks really pi**es me off. :banghead: I actually picked up about 50 yards of black amnesia line at guinea gap looked like they had just stripped their reel and just left it all over the prom.Put it to good use made myself some rig bodies out of it .We'll done on getting a few fish.
