Patting Down the Gynn...<º))))><
I was meeting up today with the boys for a late summer session on the Gynn. The weather was not the best by a long chalk. Cool in the morning and fairly warm by miday. The Easterly wind had been with us most of the week and wiped out most of the fishing. The big tide would be a bit of a hindrance also.
I got down there to find Paul towards the slipway..
The view out from my fishing position..
Looking back towards North Pier..
We left room for SenatorKennny at the slip..
And Jagbob slotted in at the stern. Just intime, as the Wall became mobbed with anglers (pre-lockdown fishing session)..
I decided to fish three rods. One with the Paternoster and the other two alternating flappers and baited mackerel lures. Bait would be fresh peeler, blackworm & squid.
All rods were set and the wait was on.......eventually the inside pat rod came to life, a small Plaice had the ball rolling..
A hard hitting Sole was next..
Greedy Pig Flounder, devouring two hooks..
Then a bigger Flounder to take us up to high water..
Jagbob managed to snare himself a colourful Tub Gurnard..
Plus a flounder just after. The sea was as flat as a pancake by high tide..
The ebb was a complete non event. But it gave us a chance to catch up on the
Pensioner Pete and his wife popped down for a chat and get the scores
For me, only the Paternoster, baited with blackworm produced fish. Couldn't get a sniff on the flappers or any other bait.
Still enjoyed the day, Super company

Great to meet up again with you and Paul and a . A few flats including a sole is a good result. Sorry you didn’t get the mackerel you wanted for the hunt.

Well done Ian, that east wind and big tide had the waves crashing over the prom at Brid.
