Now Drop Your Pants and Bend Over

On a more serious note, I'm never usually with out a few of these
P1030163.JPG

Saw Rushy's and Rains' hands in their recent post.... Red Raw with the cold.
PICT0127.jpg

They keep your hands warm clean and no fishy fingers!!

Bit of talc on the first pair and double up on really cold days.
Tight enough and thin enough to thread a worm on a hook no problem
Wind proof-- Waterproof.. = no wind chill and about £2 a box of 100.
I prefer the Nitrile to latex but they're both better than chilblains or
frostbite!!
A handy little tip I'm sure you all new about but worth mentioning anyway.
Also great if you've got to change a wheel on the way home!
Cheers RR

Unfortunately I've got rather big mitts and latex gloves always split on me :banghead:

Mind you when its that cold I don't bother going out fishing nowadays :hurt:

Wearing gloves (at the wife's insistence  ) made me realise what a clumsy B****** I am when out fishing ! I was endlessly having to get another due to sticking a hook point in a finger tip or catching it on something else ,hadn't realised how much I perforate myself in the course of a session. I think all the nerve endings were long since killed off which would probably explain why my hands don't get cold anymore

Good idea the gloves though, keeps the hands clean for when you want to eat something~many people have had mystery complaints that seriously affected their guts and could only put it down to eating after handling worms~ and stops 'em looking iodine yellow all week after a sesh :thumb:

Apparently useful as a toilet too~couple of years back I was on the North Wall and on arriving saw dozens of gloves tossed onto the seaward side. I climbed over with a bag to collect them as they looked bloody awful all over the place, only to find 2 contained logs (of the non-Yule type) Marvellous targeting in sub zero temperatures and not just that but being able to nip one off at the right length, control it and swap to a fresh glove to finish. Takes all sorts .
Always take a camera - pictures MAKE a report - and who knows people might just believe you too !!

They do Extra Large for shovels as well.
latex tended to split for me as well which is why I use the nitrile.

It's got nothing to do with keeping hands clean for some people. Wind and water are incredibly drying to the skin. Wearing gloves gives some protection by stopping the oils in the skin being stripped from your hands. If you carry on the way you are the chances are you will end up with skin as bad as mine where everything (or so it seems) sets off a reaction including inflammation and weeks of recovery. As it happens I can't even wear gloves because my hands sweat and that kicks off the reaction. Trust me I've tried!

You're just a young pup Mike. Don't be so quick to judge. :nonono:
