Morecambe Bay Fishermen Memories Project

Morecambe Bay Fishermen Memories Project

Postby wanderer » 07 Sep 2016, 15:58

Hi

I am casual/keen angler , when I do fish I do so from opposite the golf club with limited success. Due to illness I have not fished this year yet. This is my reason for not being active in the forum recently. :(

I am however involved in a Morecambe Bay Partnership Headlands to Headspace Oral History of Fishing Communities Project (http://www.morecambebay.org.uk.) to collect the memories of fishermen who are or used to be involved in local fishing industry (i.e. shrimping, cockling etc) in the Morecambe Bay Area.

We would be interested in recording a chat with such people about their memories and experience in this industry which has shrunk dramatically over throughout the last century.

Would you like to be invovled, do you know someone who might like to help?

If so please do not hesitate to contact our oral history project facilitator Jenn Mattinson on 07985 215998 or jenn@morecambebay.org.uk, or contact the Morecambe Bay Partnership office on 01539 734888.

Thank you
