Milnrow SA/ Blue mink 22.07.2022

9 set sail on gloomy Friday morning all thinking the same , why do we need waterproofs and big jackets on, so glad we did as it was really warm and rained at times
Andy said we will start off on the plaice mark and we tackled up accordingly, 1 plaice caught to Nick , we then moved to try for bass, 1 caught for the other Nick. We then drifted for a while with hopes of catching mackeral but not many about , then set anchor and it became a waiting game for the big boys.
Ken caught the biggest of the day a tope around 23lb , there where others caught but it was a slow day.
Towards the end of the day we drifted again and caught bits before setting anchor at our final mark.
I managed to snare a mackeral which I shared with Paul, on my bit of mackeral I managed 2 tope and a small busshuss before it to mangled to use and for the last hour the fish switched on to feed with small tope everywhere along with a few bull huss and a smooth hound.
Over all a poor days fishing and poor weather for the time of year , but still good to be out and have a few laughs with the lads.
