loch sunart

Postby fishtastic » 22 Jun 2015, 08:40

Hi there, just new on this site. I was up at loch sunart last weekend at a wee spot where only one can fish .Arrived and it was a bit breezy with about 2hrs till bottom of tide so set up and got kettle on .magic bottom of tide weather dropped to flat calm and a wee otter came to play in front of me .Just got new reel penn 8000 and desperate to see how good this reel is,well didn't have to wait long ,reel started screaming picked up and tightened drag, instant pull 2steps forward then leant back thinking this is a big fish ,then locked or snagged but I could feel either eating bait or digging in ,after 45mins line snapped .I set up again got another touch but that was it for the night packed and headed home .Good to get out and wet a line and impressed with new reel .
