Last Day in the Northern Territory's

Postby TurboT » 13 Aug 2022, 16:57

Last day up in Whitehaven and with my quest going into, eat, sleep, fish, repeat.
I needed a twist to catch :fish: numero 10
Up at the crack of dawn I was on the pier for a LW up session, to scratch for a wrasse.

Drop shotting in very little water for the first hour proved fruitless and having fished every metre of the piers length, I was only finding the shanny's.

No matter, the tide had made a wee biteee so I was ever hopeful.
Pollack started to show, quite regularly.

The problem was, I wasn't finding anything new from my short list.
Even the float tackle came out for an hour and .......
Well it was on my short list, just not at the top and a small coalie made it in at number 10. :yeah2:

With the sun beating and the temperature heading up, I decided to call time, before the next thing I caught was sunstroke.

So mission accomplished 10 species in 5 days (though it was far from "kids stuff")
:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:
(Whiting, Shanny, Mackerel, Pollack, Poor Cod, Pouting, Gurnard, Scopion Fish, Launce & Coaley)

For those wondering about the activity centre development....well there's not much change since last months report. You still got the detour up, over and around the site, making a long walk from the Quay Street Car Park into a fair old hike!
