Lancaster canal yesterday

Postby conprodman » 08 May 2019, 19:20

Fished the Lancaster canal yesterday from late morning up to early evening, weather was overcast with showers but not cold. A constant ripple over the water which was also very warm.
Fed groundbait positive and put in small amounts of hook bait every put in, used dead red, caster, hemp, chopped worm and pinkies.
Fished far side of track in 4ft at 12m using size 20 and 16 hooks as fish size improved.
Landed 37 good fish being Bream skimmers roach hybrids perch and an eel. Weighs 86lb giving a canal personal best making my knackered aching body well worth the effort.
I only took a few photos at the end while weight and putting back but overall a real red letter day.

86lb from the any canal is incredible!! It's over a keepnet full. Is it a misprint? Should it read 8.6lb?
