KNOTT END TODAY 20/11/14
Bit of a heads up for the weekend. Anyone visiting Knott End with the boat may wish to review their trailer security. There are a couple of caravans pitched up there on the car park complete with dogs, pile of rubbish, pick up truck etc etc. It might be as well to ensure trailer is locked on and a wheel clamp fitted to satisfy your insurance company...just in case! Trailers have gone missing in the past on this coast but we all get a bit complacent - well I do

Don't put your boat name on your trailer, in the past I have known people call the boat on the radio and ask where you are ,they ask how you are going on and if you are catching, they sign off then nick your trailer because they know they have the time to do so.

no probs we were there at first sparrow croak this morning but whilst the trailer has its built in hitchlock (take a minute to free if youre determined I guess) I hadn't taken chain or wheel clamp (yeah I know-silly b***a) and decided not to risk it! I wasn't gonna enjoy sitting round at rossall wondering if the trailer was being sold for scrap whilst I was out there. As well as the financials there is the problem of what to do with the boat while youre sorting it. If worst had come to worst I would have waited til high tide and got it into the marina or up at the yacht club. Probably nowt would have happened to it but..............there is always another day(hopefully)

Thx for that info, it is a real worry. That's a bit of a wake up call because we all become complacent.

To be fair........one of the commercial lads was launching this morning with a fairly new trailer (his old one died on the slip last year!) and I passed him this afternoon returning complete with boat and trailer. So he was ok.

Went to have a look this morning and they have been moved on by the police. The council though have replaced the height barrier so be carefull of your aerials and rods etc if you enter the car park.

yep went to look today...should have looked on here first...to see if they had gone. The height barrier is there as already said. I won't get under it with the boat so need to prepare on the slip. May actually get to go out tomorrow eventually. Two boats out today. Anyone on here?
