Gynn Wall 25/1

Postby Sir Humphrey Rtd » 25 Jan 2015, 17:25

Just back from a session on Gynn Wall with my brother, original intention was to fish 3 hours flood and an hour of the ebb (HW 2:30), when we got down there conditions looked OK with South Westerly swell. Bait was fresh black and peeler crab.

Early on weed was a problem with difficulty holding both at distance and close in, about 2 hours before high water larger pieces of rubbish started to appear including at least two tree trunks :banghead: Also needed to have to start dodging spray that was coming over.

All the way through not a thing showing where we were, weed dropped away about 3/4 an hour before high but still nothing showing.

Decided to call it a day at high water before the rubbish started to appear again on the ebb and reeling in last chuck, a 29cm flounder had decided to take the fresh peeler on a two hook flapper.

So at least not a blank :D . While I was celebrating other rod picked up some weed and bounced and took the rod rest over smashing an eye of the rod, so off to the tackle shop tomorrow for me

Good effort :thumb: Shame about the rod :banghead: Though it's fixable. We were at the boating pool and had the wood and trees from the off. After high they never returned and the fishing improved, not much, but we had a few.
