Gynn Wall 24/2

Postby Sir Humphrey Rtd » 25 Feb 2018, 13:28

Well wrapping up warm headed down to the Gynn yesterday afternoon with our Baz and Steve C to try our luck.

Bright sunshine was deceptive as it was bl%%£why :cold: :cold: with the SE breeze

We had the lot for bat swimmers, ragworm, peeler crab and frozen black and mackerel.

Seemed to start out OK with our Baz managing a small dab first cast but that was it until just before high when I managed an undersized flounder on ragworm.

  just after high when the :cold: :cold: got to the hands and nothing showing on the ebb. Only consolation was that it was a cracking sunset :D

Not the best of days, fish wise. Though better things to come, when the weather warms. Good effort Bryan :thumb: Great pics :yeah2:
I'll be down the wall next sunday, hopefully see you there :fishing:

Karen and I fished on the same tide, 300 metre past the slipway on the North section of Gynn Wall.

Virtually identical results; Karen caught a Dab on her 3rd cast then nothing!

Then 2 hours 15 minutes later, just before high water I avoided the dreaded blank by catching a small Whiting at distance.

What optimism this fish had stirred didn't take long to evaporate, we fished an hour into the ebb with 30 minutes of darkness for no :fish: .

The temperatures plummeted quickly into darkness so we  and set off for our walk up the cliff to the car parked on Norfolk Avenue.

I've applied for a car pass for the wall, hopefully the council will send it to me next week. I'm sure I'll meet a few of you guys over the coming months as I serve my Gynn Wall apprenticeship ;)

All the best
