Gynn Wall 20/4

Postby Sir Humphrey Rtd » 20 Apr 2016, 14:45

Fished the Gynn Wall this morning using up some spare bait from the weekend.

Lovely morning although a bit of a :cold: breeze.

Fished the usual two rods one at distance alternating a 2/0 pennel rig baited with sandeel and a 2 hook clipped down rig fishing peeler and black.

The other fished closer in with 2 hook flapper rigs (2's) again baited with peeler and black.

Nothing on the first cast but good knock on the rod at distance and Flounder (28cm) taken the crab bait.

Nothing again on sandeel but next cast another flounder on peeler a bit bigger this time (32cm)

Thought was going to be a productive session but that was it, apart from a number of bites on the rod close in rod but not connecting  however at least bait not being stripped.

Then an hour after high finally managed to connect with one of the culprits

Then on last chuck as I had run out of bait small plaice at distance again but this time on black worm.

So no blank and from the reports of the lads leaving the wall from Red Bank Road stretch I had done OK as only reports of 1 doggie and a flounder from that stretch.

By the way just a heads up if anyone fishing the Gynn Wall this Sunday, the Blackpool Marathon is on and the Prom is closed up to Gynn Square to 2:00pm.

Well done Sir, few fish on a nice day...No Marathons for me, I went for a run last night, but after two minutes I came back as I'd forgotten something? The fact I'm old and fat.
Nice report mate.
