Gynn Wall 16/2

Postby Sir Humphrey Rtd » 16 Feb 2017, 21:42

It sounded like a good idea in the pub last night, south westerly winds why not go for a session on the Gynn, why not I said, so just after 11:00 this morning turned up to meet Rambo and Tatey just north of the boating pool.

After all the easterlies the sea was churning up nicely and off we went.

but nothing happened for the first hour and a half and then Tatey gets a little flounder on worm, just after that Rambo manages to get a Rockling.

Then it was time to move the cars away from the wall as spray started to come over.

High water comes 2 1/2 hours in and starting to panic and then a :fish: to save the blank a dab at 23cm on black.

Then on the other rod a small whiting again on black.

Not the best of sessions but at least there was a couple of fish.

Fish are proving very difficult to find at the moment, but well done on saving the blank and great pics.

Smashing report! There was weed galore down at Cleveley's beach so it was just an hour sesh and one whiting from me.

16/2 Hi, I arrived just before high tide and after assessing the rough conditions I decided to fish the wall 100 yards south of you, on the bend below the car ramp, where the water seemed to be a little bit calmer than where you were. I was watching the waves hitting your part of the wall and the spray flying over the top and I was amazed at how your little group were sticking to it. You earned your catch, so well done. :thumb: I found the rough conditions hard going and although I'd planned on a longer session I gave up after two hours of fishing with my rod in hand, trying to detect bites...and not getting any.
