Fourth session this month
North Wales Llyn Pennisula South side
I like big tides so despite the for-casted cold and rainy weather I decided to hit the coast for an early morning session.
The walk down the hillside alongside mountain streams, heather and spring flowers heightens my senses like nothing else. The smells of nature these natural fragrances boosts my mood. I feel confident it's going to be a nice day.
The noise from this little weaving stream whether it's trickling or frothing like a bull, I just love it
Wading into the water. It is crispy cold. The water very lightly rolling, crystal clear. The tides massive. I can get to areas, that, are not normally accessible.
The salt skimmer in cotton candy getting plucks and a small bass within 15 minutes. As the tide floods I deploy a Vulture to keep hitting the area I wanted. This fantastic new lure accounted for another two Bass the biggest just about 2lb.
I hold the bass in my hand remove the hook cup him back into unusually clear cold water.
I continued to fish the tide up. A Nabarone took two Pollock.
An hour before high tide a white thin Hansen metal - was hit hard. I could tell it wasn't a bass. There was a subtle difference in the fight. I was a bit shocked at it's somersault. I managed to land it into my net by keeping my rod high. The hooks where a little blunt and of a poor quality. I quickly measured it at 38cm then popped it back in. A strong little fella for his size.
I mentioned previously it would be nice if I happened to catch a Sewin. I have seen them on numerous occasions waving to me as they jump, on the way out to the open sea.
April time, a few fish, back to paradise - it feels great.
Cheers all.
