Formby,Victoria Rd. 5/8/17

Postby Kev » 06 Aug 2017, 10:39

Fancied a bass hunt and with conditions looking good I ventured to Victoria Rd, getting there 4 hours before high so I had time to pump some blow lug.The two gullies near the top of the beach are where I expected to have the best chance, particularly as the light would be fading when I got there. At 9.30pm the second gulley gave me 3 schoolie but the tide pushed me back annoyingly too far meaning I lost touch with the feeding fish. That second gulley is deep with two big holes....I think a 27ft tide would be ideal...til the next time

Intersting and did better than myself at the vale park venue Kev. Are you not able to wade out a fair distance as your picture seem to suggest or does it deepen toward high water mark?

That mid section of beach is fairly flat and floods quickly until you get towards the top of the beach where there`s a couple of deep gullies....i would`nt wade out much anyway Ste as most bass are caught within 50yds imho....put a bait in the surf is my way of going about it.

It`s £5.60 to park there with it being national trust owned,so get there early doors or evening if you want to fish for free.....The other mark at Lifeboat rd is council owned and therefore free parking.
