Fleetwood Blues

Postby shacky » 26 Jul 2015, 15:51

The usual three plus Cosierat, Tony had made his second guest appearance today.
Getting out of my car I could hear the chug-chug of the dreaded dredger  So we had a quick move to the lighthouse..

Image

Hoping the weed would not be as bad further downriver. We made our way down the beach for an optimistic session. All year the fishing in this channel had been pants, mainly due to two reasons. The river bed is forever changing, due to the loss of the large dredger for the big ships and second, that damned mini dredger. Soon enough we were setting up..

Image

The weather was not too bad, but knew worse was to come..

Image

The fishing began and so did the waiting. After an hour boredom crept in and so was the dark clouds. I went for a wander and eyeballed Baggers baits..

Image

Quite an array, though his secret bait stayed in his box.
With almost half of the match gone and plenty of weed pulled in, there was a bit of a commotion, JP had found the only insize fish in the river..

Image

That gave him a healthy lead and us a faint bit of hope. The rain started, I went back to the car for something a bit more waterproof, the others had been prepared, the heavens opened it was mojo sapping time.
John landed another flounder, we were just spectators. Tony decided enough was enough and to be honest being wet and fishless I felt the same..

Image

A quick meeting was called and decided to end the match early. All having a good dose of rainwater. We wound in, JP had number three, there is a :fish: on the hook...Honest..

So our day had been, yet again mauled by the appalling summer weather and you know who in his little boat :huan kerr:
