fixed spool reel winder jig

I came up with this idea for filling my fixed spools with line .
I made this jig with pieces I had lying around the shed .
PS This is not a cookery lesson :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
2 pieces of wood .
2 or 3 screws.
1 bolt .
3 nuts.
2 washers.
1 piece of hard plastic.
and 2 drill bits.
I did a video of it working but I don't no how to down load it . Hence the photos.
......................
Get a piece of wood between 10 inch to 15 inch long by 3 inch wide and a small block for the bottom.

Drill some small pilot holes at the bottom of the long piece of wood and screw on the small block.

Drill a hole the thickness of your bolt about 2 inches down from the top , and put your bolt through and put the nut on and tighten up.

You can then attach the jig to a table or work top with a clamp.

Place the spool of line on the bolt and then add another nut and tighten up so the spool doesn't turn.

Now get your plastic and drill 2 holes in it , one for your bolt and a small hole for the line to feed through.

Now place a washer on the bolt, then the plastic then a washer and another nut and tighten up enough so the plastic can still turn , if the nut comes loose add a second nut .

Now thread the line through the small hole and attach it to the reel and start winding :thumb:

Brilliant idea Rob  :yeah2: I like the line rotor, which follows the line coils, to stop line springing off the reel spool. Well done, Super job :thumb:
Have you been chopping up your fish measure ?

Surprising what you can do with bits and pieces most of us have in our sheds/garages.I have got two spool winders one I have had for 40+years this consist of a pencil and piece of plastic to stop her getting friction burns to her fingers, the other one I bought from a tackle shop at Scarborough for about £15 similer to the one Mike(Willpower)made.
