Casting Donk 12th Sept
Well, the great, the good and the confused gathered on St.Annes beach for some long overdue (for some...well...me!) casting tuition from John250.
I'm a expert exponent of the overhead thump and was hoping to get past the magical barrier that had always eluded me......70yds!
John showing us how's it SHOULD be done......
Nige showing how it's NOT done!
There was a good gathering of Donkers and Angling Addicts learning new techniques, helping each other out and taking the piss
As to be expected, there were a few crackoffs and birdies, with TerryG being no exception...you can spot him on the horizon retrieving his lost ball.......
Bit closer.....
The walk of shame.....
Here he is...good boy...drop!!
I'm surprised Nige can catch with the size of them hands! no wonder all his fish look small
Andy Nuttall got in the act with a couple of 'accidents'
All too soon, it was over....I know I found it really helpful and it's amazing how an hour or so of expert tuition under a trained eye can improve your casting, top notch stuff and a big thanks to John for his time
Daz persuaded us to fish Fairhaven for High Water, which was probably a good decision as it was blowing a gale and at least this venue afforded some degree of comfort and shelter
Tony and Nige cranked up the gas on his stove and got the brews going...good man!
Some dude had been handing out box stickers
The food as usual was quality with Ally & Tony providing Bacon and sausage buns and some superb steak canadians. Terry wasn't shy in coming forward, watch them fingers Tez
It was good to meet Billy finally! He's not as ugly as Daz says he is! Top man and good to meet Wendy too
Fishing was slow but the craic and banter was quick and fierce as usual. I don't know about anyone else but the fishing is secondary to the laughs & pisstaking really! (ok...I blanked again!)
Tony scabbed a flounder as we were leaving, spawny get as usual!
Another great day out, with plenty of laughs, good food, good company and a few lessons learned.....don't cycle past anglers when they're eating steak canadians, the oil slick will make you fall off your bike!

round 2
I turned up in the carpark about 08.30 for the donkers casting day, some of the lads were already on the beach pumping worm.tony c was there in his re vamped van but i have a feeling that his brush with the pikeys has rubbed off on him because his van was not what it used to be
in fact there were quite a few vans in the carpark, terrys paedo mobile
rons (rabs)
nige,s you can allways trust nige to go the extra mile, not content with a stove and a bed he always has to go 1 step further
anyway rushy came straight from work and never had time to change out of his uniform
and i thought dave flearider was a bit over dressed for the occasion
anyhow we went down to the beach for a bit of casting practice, when Daz came back from pumping bandicoot could not believe his eyes
his worms were so big
we decided to go to fairhaven to do a bit of fishing but first daz tried to get a cup of tea from rons van
but ron was having none of it so daz went home to get his fishing gear
and by and by we went to the fairhaven carpark, some nice looking young women were walking past and terry made a bit of a show of himself
i never caught any fish but i did have one of niges frothy coffee,s
and got myself a WSF t Shirt
so it was a great day after all
