Blank Buster!! Gynn...<º))))><
After a demoralizing blank session last time i fished. I needed to get the old Mojo back. The weather forecast wasn't bad for this weekend, so i gave john a ring and secured a few peeler and a pack of fresh black. I had frozen razors, mackerel and peeler, that should catch me something.
I headed down the Gynn this morning for a lonesome session. After scraping ice off my car and i tell you, it was bloody freezing and i began to doubt my fishing logic. Then i realised i had left my frozen bait at home
Not many anglers down here..
I opted for the in-gulley..
A sandy view..
I did get some company after a while. Bryan and Barry stopped off for a spot of fishing and a chat
Flapper rigs were employed, complimented with size 2# and 4# hooks, Baited, weighted and launched...
...after an hour of nibbles and missed bites i managed to connect. This culprit was not getting away..
A re-bait and we were away again, this time a better scrap..
A 47cm specimen to re-ignite my mojo. I was walking to the steps to return the Bass and my phone rang. Paul had been watching the going’s on from the top of the wall
It was time to see double..
Then another for good measure..
The surprise of the day! a real early bird..
Small Starry Smoothound
A Dog took me up to high..
As high took hold and the flow eased, so did the fishing..
The ebb started, but not a fish in sight. Two hours down the line we decided to call it a day. Last casts made and left over bait given to Bry for his later expedition.
One of the rods went bezerk and another Bar was mine, this one pushing 45cm..
Then a Dab had the last laugh, as the rods were being packed away..
Hell of a weired day, but what a way to pull the Mojo back! All fish were returned to fight another day
The Species Hunt starts a day (1) too late for me. I'll be back next weekend with card in hand
Cheers for the company Bry & Baz
