21st March 2020 Seacombe nr Guinea gap
Seeing weather had a bit of a change for the better, decided to go fishing. Checked the train times, no problem, trains still running, so with this might be the last chance to fish the mersey for a while what the heck.
Arrived at 7.30am prom deserted as far as I could see, only 1 other brave soul out, wind was but bareable set 3 hook flapper, short snoods, (about 8ins)bait squid, lug and mackeral, the other rod hang down rig with lug tipped with squid, the wait began. Nothing until high, rugby Danny phoned to see if anything was happening, bloody typical the flapper rod started nodding, hard work trying to use your phone and reel in could feel the fish said goodbye to Dan, the bloody fish came off recast, then the daughter phoned to see if I'd got there alright, guess what the flapper rod went again(how the hell do fish know when your doing something else) dropped my phone on my box, struck missed it, daughter got a piece of my mind air a bit blue. Recast, wind had picked up in strength and got colder, decided to call it a draw about 1.30pm reeled in thinking a blank on the cards, but this little fella had hung itself no blank and 1 for the hunt went home a bit happier. Tight lines.
